Macross VF-1 WIP

Have a few weeks to take a break, so I decided to to take another crack at Lightwave 3D.. Anyways, this is a week in...

I used to be pretty decent at a much cheaper program, but the rendering engine or modelling complexities could never compare to the more expensive programs... I know all the 3d graphics geeks do a Robotech/Macross VF-1 at some point, but I haven't taken a arts class in my life, so please bare with me..

looks very nice, well done :)
I like the look of the cockpit in some of those pics very much :)

How much time, as in hours, did you need for that?
till all are one - transform, and roll out!

thanks!! All in all, I'm still learning this, maybe ~12 hours on and off, trying to get things the way I wanted them and studying my toy models and some reference pics... here's an update as of today..

sweet, cockpit looks much better than in the picture in your first post.

Maybe it's the perspective, but now i can really see that there is something in there ;)

hehe, i just added the controls and seats, originally there wasn't anything in there :)

Wow that's really good. Keep up on it as it looks beautiful ^_^ I'd love to see you do some of the other craft when you finish.

getting there, little bit of tweaking to make the textures look more realisitc...
